He seems like he doesn't care and he actually doesn't. Not about most things and definitely not about strangers. Ryder isn't a people person nor is he the sort of person to change his mind after he has decided on something. He can wipe emotions from himself and be a terrifying ghost of a living being. This comes with the job which almost requires a person to live an empty lifestyle. He calls it being a chameleon. He can act and be whatever you want and he can also hollow himself into a neutral sort of heartless workaholic monster. He doesn't have time for manners or laws. Rules do not exist. With intelligence comes sacrifice and a hero complex he hides under layers of self control. He can be as scary as he can be normal and as confusing as he can be obvious. The word complex sums him up.

He is a master of Runes. He can use them for all sorts of magics and he has even created a few of his own. If he wants to break into a heavily locked door he can draw a rune and invoke it to open. He can draw a rune to conjure food, money, and various items. He can use them for divination or even as individual weapons. To him Runes are life and if there is a reason and a need he can connect it to a Rune. Most of his runes are either symbols or made onto rocks, wood, glass, or written. He carries a special bag that hangs from his belt when working. He can defy the laws of gravity and slow time within himself down so that physical combat is always on his side. With Arcane magics he can astral project and even see peoples auras.

He's handsome in a scruffy puppy-dog kind of way. A thick mane of black hair and eyebrows that slant in just the right way to make his eyes look like he's always pouting or over thinking. He's not a thin man but he isn't overweight, either. He is very built at six foot three with a thick frame and muscles that are tight and artistically proportioned. He is also covered in magical Rune tattoos that lay dormant and unseen unless activated. When in use they sort of glow. A Futhorc Rune for "Serpent" which is a line with an "x" in the upper middle is on his right index finger. The more useful rune tattoos are of Uruz (physical strength, speed, energy, courage.) on his left shoulder and Thurisaz (force, destruction, defense) on his right shoulder. He has almost all of the Elder Futhark runes tattooed in some form on his body. Raidho, his first tattoo, is located on the bottom of his left heel. He quite literally has a rune tattooed on the bottom of every one of his fingers, giving fingerprints a whole new meaning.

Marx is a beautiful medium sized American Crow with iridescent black feathers, legs, feet, and beak. He is stealthy in a complete darkness sense of things. There is no shade other than pitch black anywhere on him, he's like a ball of flying onyx. A good spy, Marx can get to very high places as well as tight spots as he isn't very large at all, and stealth comes naturally. Marks has a magical and very thin silver chain around his head/neck area that has tiny rune engravings to help him become invisible or blend into his surroundings. He can be over protective of Ryder and doesn't like when new people present themselves in a steady role in his life, he doesn't every trust anyone, especially women.
